If you’ve met Georgy, you’ve encountered a force of nature. She brings tremendous passion to all her professional pursuits and personal engagements. Whether it’s art or design or teaching or consulting or just basking in the complexity and beauty of the natural world around her, Georgy is an eager learner and a gifted mentor. She’s combined several of her passions into a career path that has made her a highly regarded expert on sustainability.
“I don’t do things I don’t love,” Georgy says. “I’ve always loved and appreciated the outdoors, and I want to do the right thing by the environment.”
Georgy remembers helping organize her fellow students for the first “Earth Day,” a word-of-mouth movement that attracted her attention and led her to pick up trash littering the streets and parks of her Palatine, Ill., neighborhood.
That natural impulse to lead, combined with her impressive resumé as a “green” leader in office furniture manufacturing, made Georgy’s GO Initiatives consultancy a go-to choice for Qdesign and our clients. Georgy is a LEED Accredited Professional and an experienced corporate leader who understands how to move companies beyond old habits and into a comfortable and profitable embrace with sustainability. She served as a Vice President of Architecture and Design for Haworth and Teknion, and led Teknion’s sustainability efforts during the 1990s as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives.
