As vice president of Fordham Financial Services, a national factoring and asset-based lender, Michael helps clients stay in the race by shoring up finances and providing needed cashflow for anything from operating expenses to new product development.
After two decades in sales and marketing roles in the office furniture industry, Michael joined his family’s Fordham Financial Services, which provides commercial funding to clients around the country from its offices in Chicago and San Francisco. In the current economic climate, Fordham’s services are especially coveted, as traditional banks increasingly encourage manufacturers to find alternate sources of funding.
“Every business needs a bank,” Michael says. “But not all banks can provide the services and funding needed by customers. We provide similar services as a bank, but we’re able to take a collateral approach — looking at assets, receivables, real estate, and other property. We pool those resources and then can work with the company to provide needed funding.”
Just as Michael prepares for the rigors of running the marathoner's 26-mile course, he also specializes in assisting clients as they navigate through challenges common in the business life-cycle. He puts Fordham's products to work in supporting business for the long journey ahead — enabling fast-growing, transitional, or restructuring companies to obtain working capital for growth.
Michael holds a degree from Ithaca College in New York, and lives in Lake Forest, Ill., with his wife Jennifer and their children Noah, Reese, and Blythe.
