When I was first approached by Qdesign about designing a new product for Arcadia, I have to admit I was a little hesitant. For the most part, we have been spoiled with the ease and accessibility of working solely with designers based in California. The thought of collaborating with a new firm two thousand miles away was not that appealing. But, after talking with the principals of Qdesign about their design philosophy and approach to product development, any reluctance on my part essentially disappeared.

We presented them with a very basic product brief and in a short amount of time, they were able to produce several designs for us to review. All their ideas basically filled our requirements but one design in particular far exceeded our expectations. As we got further into the process and began to understand how each of our companies operated, the development of the Aloft series became relatively seamless. Qdesign's attention to detail and ongoing communication meshed well with our hands-on product engineering and manufacturing system to ensure continual progress and more accurate results.

To say our first project with Qdesign has been a very satisfying endeavor would be an understatement. We are looking forward to collaborating with them in the near future on many more projects, not only with Arcadia but also our affiliate company Encore.
