SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANT | STRATEGIST
Georgianna (Georgy) Olivieri
, LEED Accredited Professional, MBA Founder and President of GO Initiatives Georgy Olivieri of GO Initiatives was invited to join Qdesign as a strategic partner in July, 2008. The team considered her experience in building successful sustainability strategies for some of
the world’s leading contract manufacturers as a strong complement to the firm’s consulting service portfolio including the product design process. Qdesign has always been dedicated to designing environmentally sound products, long before the current customer demand for ‘green’ and advancing market consensus for products that contribute to healthy workplace environments and protect the
planet by reducing global warming.

Qdesign values Georgy’s extensive industry experience and knowledge of the evolving sustainability market focused on customer aspirations. Georgy is a LEED Accredited Professional, providing insight connecting products to green building strategies. She creates holistic corporate sustainability strategies based on a company’s unique attributes including people, products and processes. These strategies become the basis of actionable implementation plans resulting in supported marketing communications with the marketplace.

As a featured author in the recently published book, Going Green: Outstanding Green Business Practices, Georgy details a case study about her work with a prominent furniture manufacturer and their journey to sustainability with lessons learned. She shares, “Going ‘green’ requires doing the right things, a focused strategy based on a company’s people, products, and processes. Linking corporate direction, distinct capabilities and customer perspective through sustainability strategy, promises competitive advantage with short term gains, long term yields and improved customer loyalty.”

Before starting GO Initiatives, Georgy Olivieri held leadership roles for highly regarded manufacturers within the contract furniture industry including serving as Haworth’s Vice President of Architecture and Design, Teknion’s Vice President of Strategic Initiatives (originator of the company’s sustainability initiative) and Director of Architecture and Design for Teknion. Georgy received an undergraduate degree in Interior Design from the University of Illinois and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern University.
